Micronauts toys consist of figurines, sets and vehicles that have interchangeable parts, this provides unmatched creativity and fun for kids, this is attributed to the fact that these parts allow the kids to mix and match them thus developing a unique and private play world of their own. This therefore makes it easy for the kid to remove and at the same attach them as he requires. More so, these toys have different parts that are removable. Due to this reason, the playability of these toys significantly increased and was among the most sought after toys all over. This therefore makes it more convenient in that the toys can talk, walk, and carry out some tasks as directed by the kid or user. What makes Micronauts toys more unique is the fact that they can interact this is a unique feature that was first used in these toys and spread to other toys in later years. They were produced by Mego Corporation from 1976 to 1980, since then they have become household names in the toys industry. These toys are part of interchangeable space toys which include vehicles, play sets, and figures. The tooling for the figure's delicate hands and wrist cuffs was also damaged by the first factory's vandalism, so collectors may notice that series 1.5 Space Commander's hands look a little rough in comparison to the hands of the first series' Space Glider and Time Traveler hands.Micronauts are some of the common toys in the modern world. ![]() So this sample evidenced the need to fix those elements in the toy's molds, and this photo was part of a series I took to help illustrate that in my report. The original factory never tweaked the figure's foot sockets or base pegs to the vital, standard Micronaut 5 millimeter accessory diameter as they were supposed to (a common problem in many of Palisades' first Micronauts). Note that the figure doesn't stand on the base properly. The Dashwing flight pack, base and gun are also in temporary, non-final colors as the decisions on these also hadn't yet been made at this point. The head is unpainted, as masks and colors for the figure's unique human-styled head hadn't been developed yet. The figure was intended to recollect the popular Marvel Comics interpretation of the character in the classic 1970s licensed comic book. (Several more identical samples were provided to Palisades at the same time, and are in other collectors' hands.) I was sent this to review and provide instructions regarding what needed to be changed to improve the tooling problems of the first factory's work and to give my input on the development of the special edition figure's design - after which the test shot stayed in my collection. ![]() The toy's molds had been vandalized by the company that provided the dreadful manufacturing for Palisades' first Micronaut series, so this was part of an initial run to determine how well the tooling had been cleaned up by the new factory vendor, how well the new factory could handle the production of these delicate toys, and how to develop the unique paint patterns and plastic choices for this particular edition. ![]() This is a very early test shot of Palisades Toys special edition "Space Commander" Space Glider figure, released as part of the internet-exclusive Retro Micronauts series 1.5.
